Following the earthquake in L'Aquila in April,
2009, Mr. Acunto led an effort in the U.S. to raise funds for
the victims, as reported in The New York Times, ABC TV, PBS and
hundreds of other international news organizations including the Associated Press, Il Corriere
della Sera, Il Velino, RAI3 and television stations here and in Europe. Mr. Acunto, as a
spokesman in Italy and in the United States, was successful in drawing
attention to the meaningful use of contributed funds in the region where
the Italian Academy Foundation had its headquarters.

Mr. Acunto's experience includes leadership roles as a President and CEO of a national media company, as Chairman of non-profit organizations, as a producer, and as a corporate director and university trustee. An active patron, advocate and author, Mr. Acunto appears frequently before business, academic and arts groups and has been featured in leading US and Italian media.

Mr. Acunto resides in historic Hudson Cliff House, a Hudson River mansion which has been carefully and lovingly restored.
